Mixed Remixed Festival Code of Conduct
At the Mixed Remixed Festival, one of our highest priorities is providing a welcoming, supportive environment for all our participants. In order to ensure the best possible experience for everyone, we require all attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers at our conference to agree with and abide by the following code of conduct.
What is the Mixed Remixed Festival Code of Conduct?
Mixed Remixed Festival is committed to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender identity, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, or level of professional experience. We have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of conference participants in any form. In particular, we ask that conference attendees remember that this is a conference for people of all racial and cultural backgrounds, and men, women and gender on-conforming attendees and participants; racial and gender policing is neither welcome nor appropriate at Mixed Remixed Festival. At the discretion of the conference organizers, conference participants who violate this code of conduct may be warned or removed from the conference.
What is considered harassment?
Harassment takes many forms, including: offensive verbal comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, or level of professional experience; sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation; stalking; following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention.
What is expected of Mixed Remixed Festival attendees?
All participants are expected to follow the code of conduct while attending the Mixed Remixed Festival and Mixed Remixed Festival-related events. Participants who are asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
All Mixed Remixed Festival participants are subject to the anti-harassment policy; no presentations or materials distributed at Mixed Remixed Festival should be used to harass humiliate, or disrespect any Mixed Remixed Festival participants.
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, Mixed Remixed Festival may, at Mixed Remixed Festival’s sole discretion, warn the offender or remove the offender from the event.
If you experience harassment, or notice another participant being harassed, or have any other safety concerns, please alert a Mixed Remixed Festival volunteer immediately. Mixed Remixed Festival volunteers can be identified by their t-shirts and name badges.
We value all of our participants, and will work to provide a safe, respectful environment.
