We love that Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti describes himself as a kosher burrito because of his Mexican and Jewish heritage. He’s most definitely Mixed Remixed. What would your Mixie Food Name be? Tell us here! #mixiefoodname
Are you biracial or multiracial and 60+ years old? Are you in (or have you been in) a significant interracial relationship that started pre-1967? Are you a grandparent (60 plus years old) to multiracial grandkids? We need your voices for a unique panel at the Festival on June 14. Let’s have an inter-generational discussion about the long history of mixed roots. Please email me asap at heidi(at)mixedremixed.org if you’re interested in participating or know someone who would be a perfect fit!–Heidi Durrow
You can win a Mixed Remixed Festival t-shirt and help the Festival out at the same time. The first 10 people to refer donors whose donations to our Indiegogo campaign add up to $100 will get a Festival t-shirt as a special thank you. Help us reach our crowd-fundraising goal and get a gift for yourself. Be sure to sign in to your own Indiegogo account when making referrals and copy the unique url to the campaign (that’s the only way we’ll be able to count who has referred which donors). Okay, the contest starts now. Who will the first person to get a t-shirt? I hope it’s you!–Heidi Durrow
Have you seen the OOMO Cube, a new installation in front of the Japanese American National Museum? If you haven’t you must! OOMO stands for ‘Out Of Many One’. OOMO is a new project going up across Los Angeles. The goal of OOMO is to remind everyone that they all belong to one world, one LA, and one humanity. Sounds like a Mixed Remixed principle! – Heidi Durrow
Have you donated to the Mixed Remixed Festival? We need your help! This all-volunteer project provided for FREE TO YOU is not free to produce. Please give what you can. Here’s why: a message from our festival founder!
